Covid-Safe

Stay safe at the Joondalup Festival 2022

The safety of our event staff, artists and patrons is our number one priority at the Joondalup Festival 2022. To ensure we are delivering exciting and COVID Safe events for all, the City will take direction from the state and federal government on any restrictions that may be in effect at the time of the Joondalup Festival.

Some events will require proof of vaccination and identification (ID) upon entry.

Please do not attend any events if you are feeling unwell or are displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

The City of Joondalup reserves the right to respond to restrictions that may be in effect at the time of the Joondalup Festival. You can read more about our Terms and Conditions here.

Events that require proof of vaccination

From Monday 31 January, proof of vaccination for people aged 16 years and over will be required state-wide for indoor entertainment venues, including play centres, gaming and gambling, theatres, concert halls, museums, cinemas, live music venues and nightclubs.

For this reason, the below events will require all ticket holders to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and ID upon entry:

Proof of vaccination

Patrons aged 16 years and over will be required to show proof of vaccination or a medical exemption, along with a valid ID for all mandated events.

Staff reserve the right to check proof of vaccinations and ID upon entry. Please plan ahead and have your vaccination status and ID ready prior to checking in. Allow an extra five minutes for vaccination and ID checks at required events.

If you haven’t already done so, please download the ServiceWA app and follow the prompts below to show your proof of vaccination when required.

  1. Download the ServiceWA app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and login using myGovID. During this process you will be redirected from the ServiceWA app through the WA Government Digital Identity exchange and the Australian Government Digital Identity System. Here, your identity will be verified using your myGovID, and you will be able to log into the app.
  3. Add your mobile number once you have authenticated your login through myGovID. The ServiceWA app will send you a text message to verify your phone number, which adds to the security of your account set up.
  4. Account set up is complete

If you cannot download the app, you will need to show one of the following in conjunction with a valid ID:

  • COVID-19 digital certificate
  • A printed copy of your certificate
  • Immunisation history statement
  • Medical exemption (printed and digital)
  • Proof of international vaccine

If you are using the ServiceWA app or the Express Plus Medicare App to sign in to the Festival, you may not be required to show identification.

What if I have an exemption?

According to the current health advice, ticket holders with certified WA exemption for the COVID-19 vaccination are to be treated as vaccinated and will be eligible to attend all events.

Staff and/or security have the right to request proof of exemption prior to permitting entry to a mandated venue.

If you are feeling unwell

Please do not attend the festival if:

  • Have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting for COVID-19 test results
  • Have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19
  • Are required to self-isolate or quarantine
  • Are displaying COVID-19 symptoms

If any of the above apply, please email cultural.events@joondalup.wa.gov.au to request a refund for purchased tickets.

Cancellations

The City of Joondalup reserves the right to cancel events at short notice. Patrons will be contacted and refunded the full amount of their tickets.

Venue changes
